Alicia Hartle serves as executive director of Pentecost Today USA (the National Service Committee of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in the US) and is a founding member of an ecumenical household, The Oakland Prayer Group, Abba’s House, Unbound Pittsburgh-Greensburg, and Catholic Women’s Fellowship ministries. Born into the fire of Renewal in the Pittsburgh area, she has worked in ministry and business development on local, national, and international levels. Knowing God and making Him known are her greatest passions.

THE GREATER HILLTOP OF COLUMBUS, OHIO IS WHERE URBAN ENCOUNTER RESIDES AND FOCUSES ITS EVANGELIZATION EFFORTS IN A NEIGHBORHOOD PLAGUED BY POVERTY, CRIME, DRUGS, AND SEX TRAFFICKING AND LEADS THE CITY OF COLUMBUS IN THE MOST VIOLENT CRIMES INCLUDING MURDER, FELONIOUS ASSAULT AND ROBBERIES . IN FACT, NATIONAL DATA RELEASED BY THE FBI IN SEPTEMBER 2020 REFLECT THESE KEY FINDINGS ABOUT THE HILLTOP NEIGHBORHOOD:
- CRIME RATES ARE 112% HIGHER THAN THE NATIONAL AVERAGE.
- VIOLENT CRIMES ARE 84% HIGHER THAN THE NATIONAL AVERAGE.
- YOU HAVE A 1 IN 19 CHANCE OF BECOMING A VICTIM OF CRIME.
THE SOLUTION
URBAN ENCOUNTER BELIEVES THAT THERE IS HOPE THAT THIS CRISIS CAN BE TOTALLY TRANSFORMED.
AS CHRISTIANS WE BELIEVE THAT JESUS BRINGS FREEDOM, THERE IS A PLAN THAT GOD HAS FOR THE PEOPLE OF THE HILLTOP AND IT’S OUR MISSION TO PARTNER WITH THAT PLAN.
URBAN ENCOUNTER ALWAYS HAS IN MIND THE GREATER GOAL WHEN CARRYING OUT ANY PART OF OUR DAILY LIFE. THAT IS TO BE ABLE TO MAKE CONNECTION’S FOR PEOPLE WHICH ENABLE THEM TO LIVE OUT THEIR CHRISTIAN FAITH. IT’S OUR DESIRE TO HELP THEM SEE THE VALUE OF A LIFE LIVED ACCORDING TO THE GOSPEL TEACHINGS AND TO BE ABLE TO MAKE DISCIPLES THEMSELVES. HAVING INDIVIDUALS ON THE GROUND EVANGELIZING , DEMONSTRATING THE POWER OF GOD, AND MAKING DISCIPLES WILL “SET THE WORLD ON FIRE.”

Join us for a three day hands-on evangelization training event. We will be going onto the streets of the Hilltop of Columbus seeking the lost through street evangelization. We will have five 45 min keynotes, eucharistic adoration, Urban Encounter Music, and baptism of the Holy Spirit. Come and be activated for evangelization!
